    Biography

Mary Carver is a part of US Black heritage.

Mary was the mother of George Washington Carver, who was born in the Missouri town of Diamond.

His mother and older brother were the only slaves of Moses and Susan Carver, who were successful, small-scale farmers.

What did george washington carver invent

Mary was purchased by the Carvers in 1855, at age 13.

His mother disappeared, presumed kidnapped by slave raiders, while George was an infant. George became both free and orphaned at about the same time. The childless Carvers raised George and his brother as their own children.[1]
