Zeno of Citium, a renowned ancient Greek philosopher, was born in the Greco-Phoenician city of Citium (Kition) on the island of Cyprus.

    Around 320 BC, Zeno relocated to Athens and became a disciple of the Cynic philosopher Crates. However, dissatisfied with the Cynics' "shameless" lifestyle, he transitioned to studying under Stilpon and the dialectician Diodorus.
